Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Character Class/Kit Builder Website Review

One of the nice things about Mass Effect 3 multiplayer is the fact that we are given the option to customise how we spend our character points, for example if you don't like a certain power, you can skip it altogether and concentrate on maxing out the other evolutions. While it is fun and interesting to create the perfect set up for your characters, it can also be quite annoying and frustrating when you're having to do it through copious amounts of trial and error. True you can promote and use respec cards to wipe the points clean but what happens if you don't have a stack of respec cards or don't enjoy having to promote, simply because you found out the points you assigned weren't that great.

What to pick?! Decisions, decisions...

Sound familiar? Well, when i first started playing ME3 mp a few months ago, i was constantly undecided about where i should invest those final dozen or so points, so i took to the internet and googled for a class builder. I was half optimistic about find something, i mean most of the other online games i play have some sort of builder but ME3s would undoubtedly be tougher to create. However, i was in luck, i stumbled across this really useful site that had exactly what i was looking for. A fully fledged class builder, complete with a weapons list that shows damage stats through the various ranks of that weapon, as well as the ability to add equipment to your build, just to see how the bonuses will affect your character during the match!

Needless to say, after i found this site, it was the first place i would visit when i unlocked a new character or after i promoted a class. No longer would i have to worry about testing builds in game and then potentially having to promote/respec; everything i needed to make an informed decision about where to spend those points, was right there on my laptop screen. Where can i find this site? i hear you ask, well here's the link:

Everything about the class builder is pretty much self explanatory, such is the beauty of the site. All the power evolutions are described, just in case you forgot/don't know what they do and you can even see hard numbers of what sort of damage each power will output and how the passive evolutions affect them. Don't worry if you're not good at mental maths because the builder shows you exactly how many points you have left to spend, meaning you don't have to worry about going over budget. The other great feature is that the builder also shows what sort of cooldowns you're likely to get (i.e. -150%) when equiping weapons on your characters and it automatically works out the actual cooldown times (i.e. 3.5 secs)!

You'll be surprised how much you can learn about the different characters and their powers when using this builder but it's not limited to just that. You also have the ability to see what sort of shield/health values each character has, as well as what their light/heavy melee damages are. I personally did not realise how much variety there was amongst the classes until i started using this site. Trust me when i say, once you've used it on one character you'll probably end up going through all your characters to see if you've got the optimal build for each of them, i know i did XD

As i said i've been using the site for a good while now and even though Bioware are constantly adding new content and changing in game numbers, Narida always seems to be on top of things. Seriously i almost feel kind of bad for the guy, he has to update so much to keep the builder up to speed, which is why i'm promoting it you guys. I'm not sure how much exposure his site has or how many people actually use the builder but all i know is, if you're not using, you're seriously missing out. Narida is on the Bioware Social Network (BSN), so if you appreciate the effort he's putting into the builder, maybe think about swinging by the forums and drop a thanks, i'm sure he'd appreciate it (Thread On BSN).
